Home and Okay from the hurricane
I'm back home and with power after the devastation hurricane Gustav inflicted. Baton Rouge is basically dead right now, New Orleans got pounded, nobody has power in BR or NO really. But here in good ole Tickfaw, LA we have the AC runnin' and my Internet is high speed...thank GOD for small favors, or in this case large favors haha. I was worried during the storm about what I was going to eat, though. But it wound up being okay. I had protein bars, crackers, deli meat wraps, oatmeal, and bbq chicken. I was, for the most part, okay. Now my back is hurting like crazy b/c I was trying to help my aunt with the clean-up effort...damn my good heart. Hope everyone is okay! Ciao!
Yeah you never really know what you're missing until you don't have it for 2 or 3 days (or longer in some cases). I hated not having power or the Internet but much worse is that I hated thinking that some of my family members could die. So the most sobering thing of this was that everyone was okay and just having power isn't the most important thing obviously. I missed posting on this board, too I know that! But I'm back, but my "back" isn't up and running yet haha. Hurts like hell! Thanks for the concerns!!
Lance,
Glad to hear you and the family are well and survived another hurricane party... Gustav sure did a world of hurt to my family and friends down in St. James and St. John Parish. Some of them are going to be without electricity for up to 2 weeks. Enjoy that AC and internet. You've earned some well earned rest. And take it easy on the back dude.

Sorry to hear about that...those areas were hit pretty hard. Actually, a lot of parishes down in my area are still under a curfew (8p-6a) so it's still a precarious situation here but we'll pull through, we always do. Thanks for the good wishes and I hope your friends and family remain vigilant and patient through all of this.
