How many of you have "dumped"?
Pain behind the breast bone several times. Only two cases of the foamies both on baked chicken. No barfing but going south - plenty of times! Happy to say that does not happen that often any more at five months out. To go from 4-6 craps a day pre-RNY to just one crap a day - Oh Yeah! Not in there long enough to read the funnies!!
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
Yep been there, done that.
Both times it was on things that I had eaten previously without any issues.
I imagine it was a quantity issue. I had the tiniest little piece of Birthday cake, not much more than a bit or 2 for my son's 5th birthday no problem. Same thing with some chicken salad that had raisins in it. The second time at a wedding, the little bite of wedding cake tore me up. And the same thing happened with the chicken salad. I thought I was going to die. Or at least I was hoping it would be a quick death.
Cold clammy sweats, nauseated, abdominal cramping, diarrhea, lethargy. Yeah it was a fun experience.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!
I feel very similar to what Boner had to say. I am almost more afraid of not dumping then experiencing the dumping itself. I have not experienced dumping, but I am very careful about what I eat and I do not think I have eaten anything that should have caused me to dump.
I have had the "foamies" several times and I usually relate it to eating too quickly and not chewing well enough. I had intermitent problems with eggs during my first two months after surgery, but have been having much less problems as time has passed. I think I am just naturally chewing throughly without as much thought and a healing pouch must also help.

I didn't think I dumped (5 months out), and guess what, now I do. Ticks me off. The wierd thing is I don't get the nausea or sweats. But I will get very fatigued pretty quick, thats the clue. Then it gets stranger, the other end doesn't go south for 6 to 8 hours, so at least I have time to prepare, but when it comes, have mercy. My wife says I stink like a pile of loose dino dung in heat with a few rotten tomatoes thrown in for good measure. Still trying to get a handle on whats causing the dumping and what foods to avoid because up until now, I've been able to eat most anything in moderation. Deliberately stay away from the sugars and processed carbs, but high fat items are probably doing it, and maybe even milk. Sucks cause I was never was a yogurt fan, but now I love the **** and its probably one of the main causes. Other than that, no big issues except for the occasional stuck item which causes the foamies.

If milk is the culprit, it may be lactose intolerance. Mine was really bad pre-op and I took acidophillus tablets each morning. The acidophillus is a bacteria that stays in your gut and will break down the lactose, so you don't have problems with the lactose causing gas and loose stool. My Doc said I could continue the acidophillus post op. If you want to try this, speak with your surgeon.
