 OH is lasting, but Quix is non-profit (as in no cash flow, not as in "cash reserves only" ) and private. It would be nice if everyone would go over there. OH would be good if it didn't have so many money grubbing snake oil salesman and plastic surgeons advertising here. We can only pray that some lurking dork won't pay money to any of these rip off artists while visiting here.

I don't really give a rats ass about the meager crums the OH.com site makes from the advertising here. I can assure you nobody's gittin' rich in OH-land. I've helped set up and run several "general interest" sites before. We built up quite a user following although, in all fairness, none of them were this large. All our money went to pay for site usage, storage and maintenance.

Bottom line for these types of sites is either advertise or ask for donations, which is what Quix does. The money to run a site has to come from somewhere cause cyberspace isn't free. In other words, do you want to be a commerical network or PBS? Personally, I prefer not having to get hit up for donations. I'll let the OH knuckleheads worry about that.

I have never seen a pop up here or there. I was surprised athow many of the people that were around when I had my first surgery n revision were over there.
