Stalls suck mmmmk

So since about August 1st up till today (about 5 weeks later) I had bounced between 312 my lowest so far and 318.  I have never seen my scale jump around 6 pounds so much as I have in the last 5 weeks.  It's as if those 6 pounds were in question on wether my body really wanted to keep them or not.  Yes yes I've heard the argument of no****ching the scale, but sorry, OCD here not gunna stop, spare me the lecture.

Today I jumped on the scale and it finally read a lower value of 311.  So I'm considering my stall to be over I hope.  That's 90lbs loss since my high weight.  Another 2 weeks or so and I'll be at my 6 month point since surgery.

That's great progress...I for some reason thought that you were close to my initial weight so when I saw 311 I was thinking my god he hasn't lost much at all! But then I read that you had actually lost down 90 or so pounds and then I was thinking well that's more like it haha. I started out 345 or so and now I'm at 235 and I'm almost at my 6 month mark. But don't get discouraged, one month I only lost like 5 pounds. Stalls DO SUCK majorly, but you get through them eventually. And I'm a scale-watcher too don't worry, no lecture here haha.

Pull no punches...detective work here.  What are you eating?  If you were exercising, I would say you are gaining muscle.   But 5 weeks...someone has to ask about diet.  Calaries used-calaries in=weight gain or loss.  Brian

Sometimes the body needs a rest but you can jumpstart a stall by varying your routine. The body starts to go into starvation mode when it thinks it isn't getting enough food n starts holding on.  By changing the routine we get the body back on track n it starts losings again.

Just coming off a 4 week stall myself and man was I ever frustrated...   But I got focused, increased my exercise, increased my calories (and decreased on occasion), and finally went low carb high protein for a few days.  Then boom, 12 pounds gone seems like overnight.  This one was the worse.  Hit me at around 5 months.  I have had small stalls (if you can call them that) for a week to 10 days but nothing like this one.  The prolonged periods of no wait lost make you think all sorts of wild things, has it stopped, did the surgery fail for just me, what am I doing wrong, why did I ever do this. and the list goes on.  Then when the scale starts to move again, all is forgotten and the world is just peachy again.

I found that journaling my food intake really helped figure out how to break through.  You'd be surprised how many calories your really eating and how many hidden carbs are in your food.  Just remember to stay focused, eat right, exercise and drink, and most important, don't give up.  Its a steady run to the finish line, not a sprint.  You will get there.
