The Sunday Weekly Weigh-In!
The Sunday Weekly Weigh-In
September 7th!
[Congratulations to All for your accomplishments this past week!
And Welcome to All who have recently Joined.
I'm keeping A "Weekly Weigh-in" here as well as on the New-Men’s-Board
Because many of the Guys, both here and there (newly arriving from OH)
Have used it for over a year to keep track of their changes, and see how they and others
are doing over a sustained period of time.
...just in your first weeks home? Hang in there,
It DOES GET EASIER!
.... just hitting your first stall? It happens to many....
Eventually you will be able to scan back over the last months of this weekly post,
And get a fairly clear picture of the fact that there isn’t a "Typical" progress,
Just persistent, overwhelming - PROGRESS!
Yes, using the scales can make some crazy,
(Slower loss is Still Loss!)
-But-
Keeping track and forcing myself to "Watch It!"
Has been the "What works for Me," for maintaining my loss.
I’ll eat, but know that I need to exercise a little bit more
If the numbers climb just a little.
That way,
I only make "Little" adjustments to my weekly routine.
If the "Scales Make You Discouraged?"
Then STAY OFF of Them!
But for those who Are weighing in-
Drum roll--------------------------------------
Hop your Azz up on the Scales!
How much have you lost?
Since Surgery?
Or in Pre-Op Diet?
And has the Scale moved this week for you?
If so, How Much?
My Starting Weight? – 385 +
All Time Low – 179
Me?- (saturday night weight...)
187.5 (up a touch, but still in my range...)
So, What about YOU?

Wow, I haven't done this for a long time. I'm still doing really well, and I can't begin to say how glad I am to have had the RNY bypass.
Last October 17th -- started my pre-surgical diet at 451 lbs.
Date of Surgery 12/20/2007 -- 414 lbs.
Home from Surgery 12/22/2007 -- 433 lbs
New Years Day -- hit 399 lbs
March 17th Checkup -- 369 lbs
Sometime in July -- hit 300 lbs
This morning -- 286 lbs -- for a net of 165 lbs.
Goal is 200-220 per the surgeon. I just plan to ride the wave whereever it takes me. I'd be happy with 250, really, but hope to get to like 180 some day. Wouldn't that be a blast.
I never seemed to lose weight post-surgery as FAST as some guys did, more "slow and steady" but I'm still losing at about 15 lbs a month. No sign that is is slowing down or tapering off. I've had absolutely no sign of "hunger" returning -- I'm perfectly satisfied with what bits of food I eat. I take a sandwhich now for lunch consisting of one slice of bread with a couple of ounces of lunchmeat and a slice of cheese -- that and a beverage is ALL I need or want.
Also, I have VERY few issues of any kinds in terms of health. If I eat too fast, I get some temporary discomfort for a few minutes, but no big deal. I have the occaisonal "dumping" episode if I eat something which didn't agree with me, but it's not severe, just wierd feeling then a little diahrhea, this has happened probably four times since my surgery.
I don't even have any noteable scars anymore from the surgery to speak of, since it was lap.
Best part -- going to Sears last week and finding out I can buy "off the rack" clothes that actually fit me, and then getting a whole bunch of new dress clothes for work at a MAJOR clearance -- $5 shirts, $20 pants.
MOST AMAZING.

Hi Guys
Some may remember me from some time ago. Things are not really going that well, but I am starting to turn them around.
Surgery 10/06 439lbs
Lowest Weight 268lbs
Today 304lbs
I spent the last 8 months or so screwing up. Almost no exercise, too many beers, and bad food choices. I am not proud, but those are the facts.
I am just getting back on track and have lost 10 lbs in the last 2 weeks. I have visited my doctor, am back to exercising 5 days a week, and I even joined an online message board of other guys who have had similar problems to me.
The Sunday Weigh-Ins use to always help me stay on track. I hope they do again and I hope my experiences can help some of you.
See you around the locker room.
