BINGING... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I am just 5 weeks out and already I can tell that I will be able to eat more than most in one sitting. I am very worried about the binger in me. For one thing, I do think I have hunger pains right now even though everyone tells me it is emotional hunger. I'm not sure I know the difference yet. I have been keeping my calorie intake to less that 700 calories a day, but I could easily eat more. Last night I ate steak for the first time. 3 ounces of it. I could have easily eaten 5 or 6 oz but I stopped at 3. I have not gotten sick yet and I hope to God I do should I choose to make some wrong choices. This is no cake (I mean protein) walk that's for sure.

I'd say that you can't binge at meals post op. However, you can binge on junk between meals. Yep, if you eat properly, you'll be sated until your next meal. But, if you start having unhealthy snacks, you may have a hard time stopping that bad habit. I say this because I am a junk food junkie and a white carb and sugar addict. I just can't seem to get away from my addictions. I do remember going for several months without falling into my addictions following WLS. So, I suggest all newbies and prospective patients to carefully follow their surgeons food plans without giving in to temptation. Because, once you do, you may not be able to recover. Remember, there are some people who are not addicted to certain foods who can slip and still be ok. On the other hand, food addicts face a totally different problem. It's best in either case to not exacerbate the problem by laying blame on yourself. Try to get back on your program asap.
