My 2 Year Anniversary

Well yesterday made two years since my open RNY.  Started at 458 pounds and a size 56 waist.  I currently stay between 214-219 pounds and wear size 36 pants.  My girlfriend treated me to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory last night.  I splurged a bit with the Spicy Chicken Chipotle Pasta but since she had RNY as well we split it and still had food left over.  Has been a helluva ride the last two years with Gall Bladder surgery a year ago and a Hernia repair in my incision 8 weeks ago.  Plus my wife and I split a year ago.  But even with all of this stuff my decision to have surgery was still the best one I have ever made.  Feel better than I have in years and am looking forward to the future.

Congrats, Steve. Life after WLS is certainly full of twists and turns other than just losing the weight, isn't it? Best of luck in your new life. Enjoy it man!!

Thanks Boner.  Life certainly is full of twists and turns after surgery but I have to say that even with all that has happened I would still do it all again.

Good for you!  Sorry to hear about the troubles, but glad to hear that your health is so much better.

Thanks for checking in and sharing some of your experiences over the past two years.  As Boner said, there seems to be a lot more to the after WLS experience than merely losing weight.  What I liked most about your post was the, "I'm looking forward to the future."  That feels good.

I am inspired.
Bodies sure are different.  At my surgery date 3.5 months ago I was 484 pounds and 66+ waist.  My pie in the sky goal is 220 lbs.  It is great to hear when someone has done almost exactly what I hope to, thanks for sharing.
