WTF... 17 days post op
Stick with the program Jay as you've just hit the post-WLS stall where your body has gone into temporary "starvation mode." You're pretty much right on with your eating but my question to you is, how's the exercise going?
The program is all about calories in vs. calories burned. Ramp up the calories burned piece of the equation and you'll be breaking through the stall before you can say,"I walked 2 miles today." At 6 weeks out, you should be able to really begin to burn up those calories with a more vigorous strength and cardio exercise program.
Hang in there and best of luck,
Boner

You could be exercising 4 hours a day or not at all and:
1.) You'd still hit a stall (~ 2-3 weeks out is very common)
2.) Even if you were eating relatively high-calorie foods, you simply can't eat enough right now to make much of a difference. You're going to lose the weight initially no matter WHAT you do; you just don't get to tell your body HOW it decides to lose it. Stalls are VERY common. I have a several-week stall every few months, and it honestly doesn't seem to relate at all to how much exercise I'm getting or how I'm eating.
That doesn't mean that we can ignore what we eat or how much we exercise, but believe me, it's not an issue for you right now.

Jay your doing great I know its a little discouraging to stall but it is very temporary. I remember getting a call from Bama about 3 weeks out he was pissed the scale didn't move but about a week later it jumped and been dropping ever sense. Stay with the program as already been stated exercise and water will help. I know its easier to say don't worry about it then to be the one in your shoes but trust me we've all been there. Try not to let the scale dictate your life I suggest weighing first thing in the morning and just once a week. Good luck C'ya Rocky Top
