Added Sugar
So, I was wondering what kind of rules and limits you set for yourselves with added sugar.
I have been shooting for about no more than 4 grams per serving of added sugar. Today, though, I ate Kashi go lean which has 6 grams of sugar. The problem is I never know if this is all added sugar or a mixture. LIke wiht the yoplait light yogurt it lists artificial sweetener as well as added sugars and has a fairly high sugar content. but how much of it is from the milk, etc...? I find this difficult.
I wanted to buy some peppered beef jerky the other day, but I noticed it had 6 or 7 grams of sugar listed. I avoided it an purchased the jerky that only had 2 grams.
I haven't had any problems yet this morning with the kashi. I did only eat half a serving though (1/2 cup) with 1/2 cup skim milk.
Any thoughts?

I don't have issues with sugar. I can eat ice cream and cereals and pretty much whatever I want and not dump or have any adverse reaction. Some say no more than 8g of sugar per serving or you "could" dump but I've eaten ice cream and I'm sure that has wayyyy more than 8g per serving. Just increase the sugar content as tolerated I guess, there's not much other way to do it really. And if you increase it so much you dump, then you'll know not to do that anymore. So far the highest sugary food I've consumed has been ice cream (with kit kat bars thrown in for good measure, we went to cold stone creamery) so I'm sure if that does okay then I could probably eat much of anything else. (Not that I do eat whatever else with a bunch of sugar in it mind you)
