Weight Gain after Gall Bladder Removal???????

Hello Guys! I am back. It has been a very long time!  Anyway I am 2.5 years post-op. Had
g.by-pass. I have lost and maintained 80 pound loss.  I still need to go about 10-15 but I am not pushing it.  In the last 6 months I have been having sporadic pain in the upper part of my abdomen. It can happen in the center near the sternum or jsut to the right and most recently a little bit left. Crazy huh?  Any way iI have had the nuclear test that they do to look at the gall bladder, an egd to check my bypass, and an ultrasound to look for stones. All were negative execpt for the polyps that they found on my gall bladder and now it is coming out in two weeks.

Now to my question to those that may ahve had this done for one reason or another.  I have read that this can cause weight gain.  Has anyone heard or found any truth to this.  I sure as hell do not want to put the weight back on.

Any infomation?

Well, I had my GB removed 3.5 years before my RNY, and it had no effect on my weight.  Since a lot of post-op RNYers end up having their GB removed sooner or later, I'd think that if this caused weight gain, it would be better known.  Where did you hear this?

I was doing some internet research and came across one or two papers and discussions of this happening.  It jsut has me concerned. Not a much as the potential for cancer. So I'll have the darned thing removed.  Thank you for responding.
