A few weeks ago as some of you may have read I had a reunion with my 2nd city budies. During the reunion a BUNCH of us BIG GUYS got together and started writing "FAT MAN" the Musical. Well not only are we in the process of  writing this BAZAAR,,,,,,,,,, idea for a musical.. But, we have just gotten finical backing from a theater producer. I dont really have whole lot of info on it because we just started writing it. But,so far the ENTIRE cast is going to be FAT.. (Well except one) and the entire musical will be IMPROVED for the most part. I know a LOT of us take our lives as obese people really seriously.. But, lets face it,, there is humor in it all not that we arent going to cover the serious side too, just in a funny way. So get ready.. "FAT MAN" the Musical maybe on its way to a theater near you.

That sounds like fun! When I read FAT MAN the Musical, I could only think of my favorite dinners at a favorite mexican restaurant - and the aftermath. Really was Fat Man the Musical (if you catch my drift).

Thats kind of what we're doing with it. We are taking all of our FAT and trying not to be fat stories and putting them together. There are actually 2 ladies involved to so we will have both perspectives. We just got tired of seeing too many SKINNY people getting all the attention. There were There were 10 people in the group that I performed with in 2nd City we toured the country for a few years played the MAJOR comedy clubs. The 4 thin ones MADE it big.. Th 6 FAT are now doing other things. Its kind of our way at getting back at an industry that values beauty a lot more then talent.

YES you're correct.. Dont forget Farley. Those guys are like GODS to me... But, theyre really not the norm . I cant tell you how many times a members talent is looked over strictly because of his or her appearance. A lot of the time even when the LITTLE guys next to you is less talented, they always seam to pick HIM.  But, we're tired of seeing Brad and Angelina.. There are a few BIG guys out there that are doing rather well. But, its time we starting seeing more REAL people in the spot light.. It would be nice to go to a movie and see someone on screen that looks like you wouldnt it?? Thats the motive behind out little project. Its going to be so OVER the TOP in your face..... The World needs another Belushi Candy or Farley..

I can't believe you are living my dream. I always wanted to do stand up just could never figure out if I had the talent. I love to perform and act etc. Not much call for 52 yr old fat people. Oh wait there's a musical coming out. I can sing.

Hmmm maybe a part when it goes. LOL

Serious Congrats and good luck with it.

One day you'll just have to put yourself out there and try it. Just about every major city has training some place and just about every major city has a comedy club with an open mic night. I know people who have started successful careers LATER in life. For me though this will probably be my swan song... The last 3 years I have been in semi retirement from it, only doing a project like this once in a while. But, in the early to late 90's I was a traveling member of 2nd City. Traveled the entire US... With some rather well known people in the industry today.

Just Google the Second City Chicago and was surprised to see that Steven Colbert started there. Also thought it was weird that Chris Farley died on my birthday in 1997.
