North Shore of Lake Superior

Well, guys, sorry I haven't been posting much this week.  I have had a stressful week at work and haven't had much time to check in.  I've kept up my exercising but haven't been always eating the best in that I have been doing some of my grazing and eating too quickly.

Anyway, in about two hoursI am heading up north to Minnesota on the NOrth SHore of Lake SUperior near Grand Marais.  I will be at a retreat with several friends who own some nice property on the water.  This is going to be a wonderful time of enjoying the outdoors, hiking and being with people I like.  HOwever, it is also a big source of temptation for me.  FOr one thing, there will be lots of alcohol there and we typically let things loose there.  I am committed to no alcohol for the first year.  Please ask me how it went on Tuesday.  The other thing is that tons of good tasting (bad for me) food that will be there.

This will be the hardest weekend for me yet I think since having this surgery and trying to develop new habits.  I will check in for the next hour or so before leaving for any words of wisdom or support you may have.

Don't do the alcohol.........  Very bad this soon, you could do permanant liver damage.

there will be plenty of protien for you to eat so stick with that.  You don't want your Buds to see you get sick.

Have fun, Gran Marais is beautifull this time of year.  Stop at the fur shop in town and grab a warm hat for winter, you will need it.  The guy who owns the fur shop (Larry) was my bear hunting guide a couple of years ago.

I would keep the alcohol to zero or 1 per day to be sociable.  As far as the food goes, I don't think you will have the ability to eat very much no matter what you would like to do.  So don't worry and have a good time.  Eat your protein first and you will have no problems.
