I am six weeks post op and i have lost 63 lbs, 83lbs from start.
I was wondering what exercises can I do to lose my stomach wieght.  I have lost size in my feet, shoulders, arms and legs, but my stomach is still every big.

I know that I have just begun, but I have started to get on the exercise kick.  Yesterday I biked 7.5 miles for the first time since I was 13.

have a great monday

Hey Shane,

You can't isolate fat loss as the body just takes it where it can find it. Eventually the fat loss will move to the belly when the body is ready. That said, what you can do is build up your abs by doing situps, crunches, leg lifts and other, believe it or not, biking. Keep up the great work.

My suggestion is to find a plastic surgeon haha. Or do what boner suggested I guess but you will probably get discouraged before you get results. Although everyone is different, good luck with the effort though!!!

Be very carefull that you don't over do any one thing.  For the first year your body will have a hard time repairing muscle.  I lost 15# of muscle during my 1st 9 months.  I am an Archer and every week at league I overused the muscles.  They would not rebuild, every week I had to lower the weight on my bow because I couldn't pull back the weight I did the week before.  My draw weight went from 76# to 61# in 13 weeks, and yes I did get in all my protien.  4 years post I can still only pull 65#.  Get your exercise in buy diversify.

I can tell that the sit-ups, crunches and leg lifts have really help tighten the loose skin around the midsection. Filling in with muscle. Even the wife commented yesterday. Rocky Top

Hey Scott,

I use an exercise ball as part of my core workout and it's great. It adds a level of "instability" which really forces my ab muscles to work harder. I now do my ab stuff on the ball with a 25 pound dumbbell to increase the intensity of the workout. I also find using the ball really allows me to stretch my back muscles which is a benefit as well.

I think I would work out with a dumbell that didn't apparently have an eating disorder though.

I started noticing about 4 months out that my shoulders were boney as crap and I still had a 50 inch waist. I think it's just a question of patience. Some of us are just predisposed to hang on to weight at the waist level.
