This is the mens board and well,,, we talk about manly things right??
The last week I noticed something new in the quest for the new body of my dreams that a noticed the last time I lost a significant about of weight. (on sprvs plan have not had surg yet) Anyway after 4 months on this plan and down quiet a bit of weight I have noticed that I am gassy.... No,,,,,, that honestly would be an UNDERSTATEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lately I have been omitting enough GAS  to stop the world shortage SINGLE HANDED-LY or a least supply 10 747s and the space shuttle and maybe half the police cars in NYC. Today it got REALLY BAD.. The ladies that share my cubical needed gas masks and hazmat suits to protect themselves from the from the noxious cloud pungent fumes that surrounded them.. They were polite enough not to say anything but, you know if this continues they'll be plotting my death tomorrow.
I have been searching all over for the answer to my question and have not found an answer that yet suites me. So I will pose this to you.. Is GAS a side effect of weight loss?? Have you yourself experienced the unrelenting shame during you weight loss endeavor?? Tell me wont get worst after surgery?? Will it??? Or do I just shut myself off from the world for the next year?? Anyone have a remedy??

No - - - No remedy here , sorry just time thats all I can say .It will go away some time in the future ,when you might ask Can't eally say .
It just might get worst after surgery I dont know .Are you drinking pro drinks? Those really did me a number ; real paint peelers they were !!
I say have fun with them , maybe light a few of them off when ya turn the lights out > Just a joke .

It will get better but I cant say when . I did notice the gas  stoped when I started to weened myself off the pro drinks and start eating real food .
I'm a blue collar man so my work environment is a bit different I would bet money on it .The people I work with play the fart game alllll the time and to be turthfull it was time for a little pay back ( in a big way )  Revenge is a dish best served cold !   Or in this case HOT GASSSSS LOL LOL LOL

Best wishes

My understanding is that carbs cause the gas and excess acid in the system makes it wreak!

The one thing I've found that greatly reduces gas is Acidophilus with Bifidus  I purchase the chewables (found in the laxative section) and Yogurt containing Acidophilus. My WLS Team suggested it after I complained of terrible gas. Pretty common with weight loss and vegetarian's. I know this as reduced the gas dramatically, where Gas-X and related products didn't seem to help. Good Luck! Rocky Top

Well thank you for your insite on my rather depressing developement. I did hear about the yogurt. I've been laying off of it for a while cause I just couldnt eat anymore. But now what you said that the problem started about 2 weeks after the last time I had yogurt. That might do the trick. I will keep you posted believe me I will try EVERYTHING out there to fix it. I will report my findings.

I've had issues like this from time to time. My Dr. told me to use Immodium which helps w/gas as well as other issues of the GI tract.  It worked for me and I use it about 2-3 days a month when I'm having this problem.

For me the worst is that my car has a familiar aroma to it.  Farting while driving leaves a more or less permanent remanent in the seat.  I finally found an air freshener in the grocery store that over powers it.

There is a product called Devrom that is a "internal body deorderant". You take 2 capsules 3 times a day and its supposed to neutralize the odor in gas. I did order a bottle, but I have'nt tried it yet.
