Physique Hereditary? Formed during youth?
Hey Guys,
The d-bag pic has me wondering how much of the abs are due to my working out as a youth?
Here's before:
Then after. This was a loong time ago when I was 12. And no, it's not a Garth or Woody Allen look alike contest!. Notice Dad's cigs:

Abs of steel at 12.
Anyone's experience similar to or contrast to this?
Best Wishes,
Dave

Lance,
200 lbs at 12 is one hell of a challenge.
At 12, I had gained to about 150 at 5'3" (I had just gotten taller than Mom, I remember). I was by far the strongest kid in elem school , but had a lot of blubber and a lot less cardio fitness than the other kids. I could not do sports well at all.
Then at 12 I decided to go on an 800 calorie a day diet and lift weights. My parents didn't know I was dieting that strictly. The could see me thrashing myself with weights and Karate, but in the early 70's most people figured any amount of physical activity for a kid was okay (Hell, I don't know, maybe it holds true for many kids?).
The gain-loss pattern was one I would repeat many times until WLS.
I suppose starting off with strength and then getting fit probably gave me some residual fitness, which I added to again and again as I yo-yoed repeatedly.
Best Wishes,
Dave

Dad's lifestyle is something to look at too. He smoked, drank considerably and ate constantly. He had his first heart attack when he was 55 and developed CHF shortly after. He's still around, but been in the hospital 15 of the last 22 years. In this picture he was 44, that's 2-3 years younger than I am now.
Bullyanky, get that bodyfat down and muscle up as fast as you can have that and more. You were fit in the recent past, so all the easier to obtain.
I really would like to go shirtless more, but I have to limit myself to when I'm doing yardwork and when I'm in Yoga class. At Bikram I'm the shameless foreigner who not only gets shirtless halfway through the class, who actually sits shirtless in the waiting room before class. Love it when the hot instructor jumps on my back! Yeehaw.

The police would come and arrest me for indecent exposure.. But, the thought of some day have pectoral muscles really excites me. Right now,, Im caring around Pamela Anderson rack..
