Easier to Work Out on Liquids Alone?
Guys,
The last couple of days I have been limiting myself to water, coffee and protein drin****il after my evening workout. The result seems to be that no matter what I do, I barely get out of breath. Though I'm sure the food weight is insignificant, I'm also seemingly able to do pushups and pullups more effortlessly than when I have solid food in my system. Naturally, the 104 degree heat in hot yoga also seems more tolerable and I am of course able to bend further without any solid food in my system.
Wondering if anyone has any experience with or knowledge about this?
Thanks in Advance,
Dave

Hi Rocky Top,
One author says that a blast of Omega-3 oil in the morning is not only heart healthy, but also boosts testosterone AND helps you feel full throughout the day when you're on a low carb diet. So it could be one reason that I feel fine all day on water and protein drin****il I've finished exercising, which is between 7 and 9:00 pm.
Best Wishes,
Dave

Ok this type of eating pattern just sends off all kinds of red flag warnings in my mind as boardering on an eating disorder.
Granted eating less probably would make you feel less bloated, which would help you "work out" better....but the long term implications of an unhealthy eating pattern seems to contradict what you are trying to accomplish...which at 2 plus years out from the RNY would be to establish eating patterns which would help you maintain your weight loss long term. Since that type of radical dieting is not normally sustainable long term, I'd say it's a bad idea.
But then again ....what do I know...lol.

Scott,
CarbonBlob and I went a lot of our first year drinking only protein during the day and then a meal at night. So far no indication that it's setting off any bingeing problems or anything like that. I do get 40 grams of protein ever 3-4 hours and lots of water. Also a single good meal with vegetables, fruit and fiber.
Should be okay.
