IDGOMButt Weekend edition

Sat. ran in a 5K. 24:36, 7:55 pace. Fastest one yet. Got under 25 minutes and under 8 minute pace. The course had lots of turns and 2 small hills. Can't wait till the next one on a flat course may get under 24 minutes.

This evening ran 5 miles walked 1 mile.

Long way from 2 years ago when I couldn't barely walk around the block at over 375 lbs.

Good to see you. Man you have made some big changes. That's quite the run.

Wondering if you saw Bama's ride report of last week? Looks like they had a good time and also got in some physical activity.

Right back at you. This running thing has became an addiction. I really like the long runs. I try to do one long run a week. I am up to 10 miles. Planning on doing a 1/2 marathon Nov. 2. I have been running the 10 miles at a 9:30 pace. I like to do the 5K's because it is easy to measure your progress. In this area there is 1 or 2 some times even more going on every weekend with in 30 or 40 minutes of where I live. I will check out Bama's posts and read about his ride.

My wife doesn't really understand the running thing, doesn't really show much interest in it at all. Our kids are grown and out of the house. They seem to be impressed when I mention it to them. It might be nice if I had some one to celebrate with me, but not that big a deal I guess. She does support me in many other ways and does know how much work I have put in my weight loss and overall she has been there for me. I have read where other guys families will go to the races and cheer for them. I have wondered what that would be like. Fortunately I like my own conpany and I cheer myself on.
