Pouch Size
This may be a strange question...
How much cottage cheese should I be able to eat two weeks out?
I ask because the last couple of days feels like I never had surgery. I'm very hungery and yesterday at lunch I ate 3/4 cup a cottage cheese mixed with a full yogert. I was surprised I could eat it all and I didn't feel over full or uncomfortable at all.
On the bright side of things, I haven't had a single moment of nausia and haven't been sick at all since surgery.
Thanks!
Mars

Hey Mars,
I think how large someone's initial pouch size is varies from surgeon to surgeon. The norm seems to be around 4 oz or so with 8 oz to a cup, you ate around 6 oz so you're in the ballpark for filling up the pouch I presume.
You should ask your doc how large he made the pouch to be sure but the key is not eating so much you get the "stuffed" feeling. Eat 4 oz or so then wait for 20 minutes until the pouch sends the "I'm full" signal to your brain. Don't want to eat so much to either stretch the pouch or for a newbie, like yourself, take the risk of blowing a staple. Anywho, that's how I understand this new eating thing works.

For me, it would be very difficult to try to measure pouch size so early out from surgery.
1) There's not a lot of feel there yet.
2) You are eating slider foods.
What do your pros say about measuring your food?
I have never been able to eat more than about 3-4 ozs of dense protein ( mixing it with something moist). Right now with a grouchy pouch, I'm not even able to do that. But I can easily eat twice that of a slider food . Therefore, I have to measure my food and count calories.
