OK, fellas.....time to fess up
Hi Boner,
I'm glad you asked that. (You may not be glad you asked that, though!)
I'm doing the 12 DVD P90X Set + the 4 DVD P90X Plus Routine. I haven't counted, but I'm sure there are at least 300 different exerises in the thing. In effect, if you follow the program, it's like having the same workout as a professional dancer, maybe better. That's how many different motions you go through.
I had a break from classes and I was doing 1-2 those a day and 30 Bikram Hot yoga sessions over the same 6 week period. Then just for kicks I was swimming, biking and running as social activity with friends.
Since classes have started back up and I'm preparing for a presentation at a national conference (not at OH, at an academic conference!) I only have time for 50-90 minutes of workout a day . So that means either a regular 50+minute P90X workout, the 90 minute YogaX workout or a regular 50 minute workout plus the 15 minute AbsX routine. A cute Bikram instructor has also invited me back for the occasional hot yoga session and I still do the social run and swim on the weekends.
Whew! Ask me about exercise and I become really long winded.
Thanks for reading.
Best Wishes,
Dave

OK, OK, I can't take the pressure!!! I got up in the middle of reading this thread and walked 3/4 of a mile. You guys shamed me into it... Thanks!
I just started my exercise program yesterday. It was part of the program that went with my surgery with Fresh Start. I spent an hour in the pool yesterday and will do land based exercise next week with an exercise physiologist. The program provides me with a 3 month membership at McConnell Heart Health Center, and they expect me to be there at least three times a week.

That's a pretty awesome WLS program you got there Dan. Mine wanted to charge me $40 for a physical therapy evaluation and $10 a visit to use their limited workout center. Not a real incentive to start an exercise program if you ask me.
By the way, I paid the $40 and, 3 years later, I still use several of the recommended exercises in my core workout. Guess I got my money's worth so I should stop *****in'.
Boner
I walk to and from work every day. So I'm getting in 3.5 miles at least 5 days a week. I've lifted upper body or done elliptical work about 5 times in the past month, but I need to get a heck of a lot more committed to it than I am right now. I'm letting other things take priority. If any of you happen to be driving down I-10 or I-20 through west TX, take a little side trip and come down here and kick my ass a bit.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.
Since you asked.....
I do not work out at all. It is a sorry excuse but there is just no time. Kids on the bus at 6. At my school by 630. Students in the door at 645. After care program until 630. Drive 50 miles to pick up the kids at after school activities or run them somwwhere or just do things that need to be done for the family. Work an overnight job Friday and Saturday night at a local convenience store.
I honestly do nto see where the time would come in.
Yes I have a wife but she is in the first year of a new job and well with teh economy we want it to go well for her.
I am trying to work it in though. Pray for me on this guys!

What do you do while waiting for the kids to do their activities? Can you walk around the place? Also at your overnight job you are stocking shelves or facing as we used to call it. We had to fill the beer cave and pop when I worked. Can you walk a little bit after you get off work. I'm just making some suggestions to see where you can add some light exercise. You don't always have to go to a gym etc

oh by the way ...that beach ball ...is a nasty bogger....it may look sissyfied...but it will make you squeel....oh and I do some abs too...
