All Fired Up and Rarin to go!!!!
HELLO OUT THERE!!!!
Intro of sorts and a BIG Thank You.

I have been reading the posts since July, soaking up all of your vast advice and knowledge.
and
I am so happy to say that my wish will become a reality on Novembr 20th.
I am scheduled for a Lap RNY in Langhorne PA.
I don't think I could have made this desicion(sp) without all of your help. I was kinda out of sorts on what t do. second guessing myself, etc... But reading all the advice here and speaking with some friends of mine that had it. made it a whole lot easier.
When I started looking into wls. It seemed so far away from reality. But last week wen I passed my cardiac eval, I could see the light at the end of the tunnel.
My surgeon's office called yesterday to schedule the surgery. I had to wait to call them back. I was slightly nervous to say the least.
But I can see the train getting closer to the sation. So I am all fired up and rarin to go.

I know where you're coming from on second guessing. I woke up my wife in the middle of the night, the night before surgery. I asked her "am I doing the right thing"? She reassured me (even though I didn't sleep at all that night), I had the operation and never looked back. Major changes ahead. You should do good (you are taking it seriously and are doing your research)...that's half the battle. Ask away on the questions...we're here for support. Brian
Tom,
I have my lap band surgery the day after you in Allentown, not too far away.
I understand the fear and trembling. I've been a mess, eating too much and so forth. My impression is that in addition to the guys here, who are great, that Barix has a very good support network. Maybe you've connected with them already.

Thanks guys for the warm welcome. Much Appreiciated(sp)
I knew after reading the first posts back in July, that I found an excellent resource for what I am about to embark on.
I haven't connected with Barix as far as support groups go. I work nights and the dates fall on my days to work, but rest assured i will be there. when I go out for the surhery.
Since the Interview w/ Dr. P, I have been trying to impilment some of the advice that I got.
Like Chew Chew Chew, sip sip, sip. Stay hydrated etc. the one I cna't seem to overcome is the no drinking w/ meals, any advice or will this come naturally with my new eating habits?
That one kinda has me a little worried.
I feel like a kid at Chritmas waiting to open his presents.

Tom,
The not drinking with meals will come without trouble post op if you practice pre op. Simplest way I found to be able to do it was not to pour the drink to begin with or order one, even water, if at a restaurant. Yes, you can eat "road kill" again post op. Just give it some time before you try it! RNY 's, in particular, make great dates - we're cheap to feed and can get plastered on one drink.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
