Cereal and Breakfast
My brother, who had WLS a couple months ago, has oatmeal or cream of wheat with chocolate flavored protein in it most every morning. Two birds with one stone and only takes a couple of minutes to fix.
Low fat yogurt and berries are good along the lines what Rich said. Hard boil up a half dozen eggs and refrigerate them, then have one for breakfast. Slug down a glass of low fat milk mixed with protein powder, which you can also prepare several days in advance in a quart or gallon container.
I eat the high fiber Kashi, plain old Shredded Wheat or Grape Nuts with a banana most mornings. Cereal is mainly carbs but I get lots of protein in the rest of the day.

Kashi "Go Lean" has 13g of protein, 10g of fiber and 30 grams of carbohydrates (6 grams from sugar). That's pretty low-sugar, although the amount of carbs is a bit high (but you can't avoid that with cereals.) Shredded wheat is like 49 grams of carbs!
The taste is well, "healthy": fiber twigs and soy nuggets, With 1/2 c. skim milk, it's a protein-rich, fiber-rich breakfast

"Shredded wheat is like 49 grams of carbs!" with less than 1/2 gram of sugar and 6 grams of fiber. Not too shabby imo.

The sugars in Kashki "Go Lean" cerials are all natural so it is easily digestible for WLS patients. My NUT suggests the Go Lean cerials and any of their bars as a great source of protien and simple sugars. I use Lactaid Whole milk on mine for a combined 21 grams of protien. The "Go Lean Crunch" is to sweet for me but is worth a try.

I use the Kashi Go Lean High Protein cereal. I only use 1/2 a cup that I mix with a Kroger low carb vanilla yogurt, small container of apple sauce and two table spoons of ground flax seed. It's quite good.
I do a lot of running as well so I probably eat a few more carbs than some. Here's the link to Kashi's web site. http://www.kashi.com/products/golean_cereal_original.
I also use Kay's Naturals. It's really good but about three times the price as the Kashi. I have tried several on their products and liked them all. http://www.kaysnaturals.com/. I have been able to buy their products at Drug Emporium.

Calories: 90
Protein: 12 gr

I will eat this multiple times a day when at those periodic points in time I might do a day of protein shakes. Also makes a good dry crunchy snack that is healthy enough to be guilt free.
Manufacturer's website is www.nutritiousliving.com. If you cannot find it locally, they sell full cases (6 boxes) direct, via mailorder.
I recently found this at Lucky's supermarket. They had 3 different flavors of it.
I also have the Kashi go lean, but this has more protein and fiber than the Kashi, so I am in the middle of switching over. Gotta eat up all the old cereal before I can make the wholesale switch.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!
One trick pony here...Wendy's Chili. I would have a couple of spoonfulls in the morning when I was on the run. We need to get a new mindset concerning breakfast. We need to go for things that are high in protein...protein first. You can get the other things in throughout the day. So if I am on the run, first thing in the morning I will have things like: spinach leafs and tuna salad or egg salad, cooked vegetables and steak, Wendy's Chili, crock pot stew (meat and vegetables), protein shake and some vegetables, a variety of dried nuts then some vegetables. If life gets busy, at least I have started off the day right. Brian
