TROUBLE IN APPROVAL LAND

Today I finally got my medical records in the mail. After months and months of waiting for them to arrive finally they have been processed and are in my hot little 70 pounds liter hands.
I was EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! However,,, As with a lot of things that have caused me much anxiety there is  a problem...

The records that came from the copy right agency,,,, are wrong.

According to these records I am about 5 -8 years younger (they have the wrong birth date. I have MS, have had back surgery, LOW Blood pressure, and am hypochondriac, and 3 years ago I nearly cut my leg off with a chain saw.  There are even Blood test results that appear to be someone Else's. There are a FEW THINGS in the record that seam to be correct like my tendon damage in my shoulder 1 and 3 year ago.  Earache,, 2 years ago, and a back flue 1.5 years ago.  However there are doctors orders in here for MRI's and a mention of Surgery performed to crct the problem that I NEVER HAD and never had an order for.  WHAT??? Now there are three other guys in the same county as I who have the same name or almost. We all have different Initials and actually one spells is name differently.
These are SO F_ _ _ _ _ up...
I would assume that the insr co. could turn me down with all these discrepancies.. Anyone else have this problem EVER?????

I can empathize with your problem to a certain degree after this past Wednesday.  Was at Dr. on 6 month follow up and asked for a copy of my surgery notes to add to my personal file since it looks I'll be moving soon.  Front page is fine and dandy.  Second pages went into installing a Lap-Band.  H-E-L-L-O!  I'm an RNY!  According to an assistant the reports are generated on computer and somebody used the wrong template on those two pages.  Glad I caught it before leaving his office.  In your situation it sounds like somebody just out and out screwed the pooch.

Get ready for the ****storm buddy.  Call them and don't take no. You'll be onm th phone for hours etc.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,,,, I knew it was just beginning. Luckily I have a OB that works for the same medical group next door and she is married to an attorney who works medical cases.. I SUCKS though that I have to waits till MONDAY BEFORE I CAN DO ANYTHING. I AM SO MADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.  I am starting to wonder though if I have those guys records if they have mine. If so They're in a HUGE VIOLATION OF HIPPA LAWS.. If my surgery gets turned down because this documentation is screwed up by them.. I wonder if I might get a free surgery. THEY'RE gonna wish I could have cleared this up today. Now I have time to think about it.

Damn, Bull.....bad news, good news. Bad news is they got the wrong records. Good news is you're not as dicked up as the guy in the records from the sounds of it.

Oh what a mess.........................................

So I got out of work EARLY today just to take care of this problem. (ACTUALLY I LEFT 30min after I GOT THERE) I went over to this office that processed my MEDICAL RECORD AND CAUSED THIS HUGE BLUNDER. I showed the guy that manages the records dept. what was sent to me. ( made him a copy of what was sent) and advised him that I was going to wait ALL day in the waiting room until this was corrected. So I sat in that office for about 4 hours while they sent someone around the 6 different medical offices and 2 different hospitals to collect my correct records. So Finally at approx 3:30pm I walked out with the records I had originally asked for. I believe that copy right company they use just lost their contract.. I HONESTLY LOVE IT WHEN IM RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was such a RUSH.. Not to be nice for a change.
