fat or skinny
Scott,
I am curious about the excess skin part.
I am in the process of meeting the criteria that my insurance company has set and so I am doing my research until I can get approval (probably another six to twelve months).
One thing I keep reading about is the possible need for cosmetic surgery to remove excess skin. Is it mainly just fatty tissue that has not yet been metabolized, or does it pose a health risk? Also, how does it affect the clothes you wear (say, for work)?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

"just kind of wondering what you set for yourself as a goal, and when or if you were ever satisfied with your weigt loss. When did you switch from losing to maintianing?"
Scott,
IMO if you are able to continue losing down to the top of the BMI chart, do it..... while you still can.
I originally felt I would be happy to get to 190. When I got there I added a few more calories to my daily intake but continued to lose slowly down to 173. I am close to 6'.
I have heard the same stuff from people....don't lose any more weight, you went too far, etc. but I have done it the way I think I should have. My surgeon didn't say these things to me; in fact she hopes I stay where I am.
So do what YOU think you should do and ignore the other opinions. They don't count. If you're happy where you are, by all means stay there. There is something very satisfying about ending up within the "normal" weight chart. I can't believe that being at the top of the chart is actually a problem.
Good luck and take care.
Mike
