MS Contin 15mg bid

Has anyone been on this pain med before? I was put on morphine sulfate extended release 15 mg twice a day and was just wondering if anyone has taken it before? Thanks. 

Well, my 85 y/o mother is on 3x15mg morphine sulfate extended release twice a day.  (She's got spinal stenosis with resulting neuropathic pain in her legs and feet.)  I would pay attention to getting in lotsa fluids, fiber and stool softeners if you're going to stay on that.  Otherwise, you'll be sh*tting rocks, if you manage to sh*t at all!

15mg twice a day of extended release morphine doesn't strike me as a very high oral dose of morphine.  That's roughly equivalent to 10 mg extended release oxycodone (Oxycontin) twice a day (more or less equivalent to one Percocet 5mg every 6 hours), though opiate dosages always need to be individualized.

 So far it hasn't done a damn thing except keep me in pain so we'll see.
