Hey guys, I've been coming to the forums for a while, but never really posted much. But I recently sent in all the paperwork for getting approval, and finally got it!! And Dec 9th is my surgery. I have a ton of tests to go through, but it will be worth it. I'm really excited though, cant wait.

Anyone have any advice to a newbie? What kind of diet can I expect before and after surgery. I know its a lifestyle change, and I'm prepared for that.

And if anyone else has used Dr Georgen at Theda Clark (Midwest Bariatric) in Neenah Wisconsin, tell me what I'm in for.

Thanks!!

Neil

Neil first let me say welcome to the locker room .
Second, I'm not from your neck of the woods so I'm no help there .

As far as the diet ? What type of surgery are you having?
The diet differ's from doctor to doctor so I would talk to them about that .(  I'm sure you will )
And the advice ; start walking , or riding , swimming ,running, just find something to be active with in your life right now. That way you already have a headstart at it . And it helps if you like the form of exercise that you choose to take part in .

Good health and best wishes

Hey Nick,

I'm getting the Roux-en Y surgery.

And I'm heading down to the YMCA early next week to start lifting weights, depending on funds.

Expect some kind of liquid diet the week or so before surgery.  Sounds tough but it isn't the bad.

Get in the best physical shape you can before surgery.

Good luck!
