OK, I took a good look at my Centrum Silver chewables and see they are lacking in calcium and iron recommended for RNY guys.
Any suggestions? Also, do I need iron . . . and, considering my last colonscopy (4 benign polyps) what about "C' and antioxidants?

There is very minimal amounts of calcium and iron in any multi. You ABSOLUTELY need to suppliment a separate iron (taken on an empty stomach at least 2 hours away from calcium) with Vit. C...if you take your C with iron it will help the iron absorb. PLUS you need to take at least 2000 mg of calcium citrate a day, plus extra D (separately).

Multis alone will not meet all of a RNYers daily nutritional needs, actually a study released a few months ago, showed that RNYers that were just on multis ended up vit. deficient.

I was told to take iron, minium of 65 mg of elemental iron, once a day.  I also take 1000mg of calcium aday as well as a mutlivitiam.  If I don't take iron, I lose it real easy, then I'm hurting.  Always talk to your Dr about what you take and how much.

I get min from Baratric Advantage really like the cinnamon and the iron is the only iron I've taken that don't have that nasty iron taste. Buy online if you get a three months supply you don't pay shipping might look at a B-12 & Vitamin D? www.bariatricadvantage.com 1-800-898-6888. Rocky Top
