H-pylori Test

I've read up on this test, and it sounds interesting. But do they put you under at all for it, or just leave you awake for the whole thing??

My H-pylori test was a simple blood test so yes I was awake and came back positive. I was perscribed antibiotics for 2 weeks and was cured. What test are you talking about?

I had two of them. One was a stool sample preop and that came back negative. Then I had one done on a biopsy of the stomach during surgery and that came back positive, so on the prevpac I went..

I thought it was a scope they put down your throat to take a tissue sample of your stomach and small intestine. Maybe I misread it

that may depend on the surgeon. if it's a scope, you'll be put under. But they can do it non-invasive. You might want to check with your surgeon to be sure of which way they do it.
