"Lay off the frickin' halloween candy" challenge
Hey Boner....Happy Halloween!!! Thanx for putting out this challenge...I've been dreading my first Halloween post WLS. I have always loved candy....especially chocolate. My lovely wife bought enough candy to feed an entire grammar school!! (I think my sweet tooth transferred to her after my surgery.) But I had RNY so I'm afraid of dumping anyway...but it will be a real challenge!! Hope I'm up for it!!
I am in the same boat as carrtje and Tom B. If I had read this yesterday evening, I might have had the mental trigger to stop what is a near automatic response for Halloween. I hope I will do better next year.
Now for Thanksgiving, thankfully it will just be my wife, kids, and my Mom. Any suggestion out there from the veterans for how to make it through the next two holidays without feeling like a stuffed pig?

I did fine with the Halloween candy, but I gotta confess: I went to an academic meet at a neighboring technical college on Saturday and in the hospitality room there was donuts, and turnovers, and pound cake, and banana nut bread, and muffins. I declined on all of them. But there was also some homemade chocolate chip cookies. And they kicked the everlovin' **** out of me. About six of them ganged up on me and whupped my ass. I'll be walking an extra mile or two per day all week long because of those guys.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.
