I Re-Goaled
I am proud to say today that I am a 225 pound 38 year old man.
I started this as a 412 pound 36 year old. I wanted to be 225 pounds. My doctor said 230 should be the goal. I settled for 235. When I got there, I felt like I had to get to 225. Today I did, nearly 2.5 years out.
I have seen several stalls, but am most proud because I feel like this last 10 pounds was as much about me as the surgery. I have become a daily jogger- just under 3 miles every day. I feel like I am more active father, which was my entire goal. The number just meant something more to me personally.
This entire process has been a blessing, but I know the surgery did it for me. For some reason, it felt like I did some of this last push and it is the first time I have really felt proud of myself - not pity, just a function of knowing I had to do it.
Good luck to all.
