TWO WEEKEND FARTS

Well yesterday I was supposed to run 12 miles and ended up running 13.1 so I ended up doing my first unofficial half marathon!

Today I did my sunday weigh in and came in at 205.2 which is 200# lower than the 405 I was on the day of my surgery 9/24/07. Which is pretty cool I have been stuck between 209 and 211 since July 21.

A pretty good weekend!

Way to go Jon. Seems like you are in good company this weekend with the big numbers being hit.

At what weight did you start running? I'm thinking that I should wait until I'm around 230 or so before I start doing any running just to minimize the chances of joint pain. How long has it taken you to build up to running 13.1 miles? Just curious, as that's the direction I need to head next in this journey.

Fish,

I started running outside in April. At that point I was around 245. It was grueling at first but I have been plugging away and it is getting easier. I still say I hate running however strangely I find myself doing it more and more often.

My first 5k was april 20, 2008 and before that day I had not run more than 3 miles. The entire time I was asking myself what am I thinking?
