Well local militias used to fight off foreign invaders and native americans, were not highly centralized, and were not publically funded, basically it was a bunch of local farmers (and such) that gathered arms to protect themselves......YAY for the right to bare arms!!!! What Obama wants is completely different, he wants to take a page out of Hiter's manuel for running a government, and start a national police force, which has the same funding as the army. Yeah, that's a bad thing.....

The FBI is a national police force. I'm not sure what the difference is. Also I'd say he's probably talking about something for the drug and gang problems in inner cities.  More than likely, he's probably just talking, being a politician and all. Like I was saying his being elected is more important as a gesture to the world than it is in terms of real "change." I don't fall for celebretician hooplah so easily.

Whatever he does, if he tries to do anything radical he'll have to both:

1) have the funding - my understanding is there's no much left after the war and economic bailout

and 

2) get it past a congress with quite a few moderate democrats.

Then again, I don't think his past shows him ever pulling anything radical off at all so it's probably irrelevant.

I'm back from the funeral folled by presentation from hell. Obama? He looks overly innocent and therefore feminine to me, but look at my choice in avatars. 

As for the concept, it's a beautiful one. I don't even like Obama all that much, but the fact that a country can look past a man's skin color and the fact that he represents a minority that only makes up 13% and still put him in the top office. Hey, well...THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES!.

Even if we don't like the guy, I think electing him will benefit us more than we know.
