220's
I finally saw numbers associated to my weight that I haven't seen since I was about 10 years old. Today I stood on the scale and the numbers staring back at me were 229!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot tell you how awesome that felt to see those numbers. Only about 7lbs to go until I reach my "goal" weight then I'll want to go a little further though b/c I'm still too fat. AWESOME TIMES!!!! Well, minus the horrific presidential choice certain people just put in office, but I'm personally doing fabulously!
Congratulations dude. I'd like to see the 220's before this journey is over, but I've been stuck at 253 - 255 for 2 months. I'm gonna have to work a lot harder than I have been.
And don't worry about that presidential thing. It may end up being a blessing in the end. People have gotten to where they take that life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness **** for granted. Maybe they'll wake up after a strong dose of state encroachment in to their lives. Or maybe not.

The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.
One of my disagreements with the direction that the democratic party in general wants to take the country is in the area of increased regulation in every area of our life. Which means more bureaucrats making more regulations from vaguely worded legislation, more lawyers to enforce and defend against said regulations, and even more bureaucrats to come out to where you work or live or take a **** to make damned sure you're following those regulations, etc.
Am I one of those libertarians who thinks that regulation of any kind is not a valid function of the govt. No. They have a legitimate responsibility to protect the citizens from predators of all types. But the primary reason we lead the world in lawyers per capita is due to the litigation involved with the give and take of govt regulation in all areas of our life. Some people call it nanny-statism. That's what I meant by state encroachment.
With Dirty Harry running the Senate, Granny Botox running the house, and Teleprompter Jesus running the executive branch, I fully expect the nanny state to expand in the next four years. And nannies cost money. And they vote reliably for their employers. Which kinda helps explain why there'll be more of them.

WELL THANK GOD we have a relatively conservative supreme court, which isn't big on legislating from the bench (although they could be a bit stricter in my mind).
We do have a great system of checks and balances..the funny thing is that everyone compares obama to JFK...what the hell did JFK do anyway? Ummmm think of anything great? hmmmmm bay of pigs? nope...He's remembered well because he got shot in office.

Four years from now, Scalia, Roberts, Alito, and Thomas will be consistently on the short end of 5-4 votes and will be villified as nazis by the press. Voices in the wilderness. The only check I see is the inevitable over-reach like Bill did with his forcing gays upon the military and letting his wife try to ram her version of a healthcare plan down our throats back in '93. It cost them big time over the next 6 years. Might have cost him the WH in '96 except for my homeboy Perot and Bob Dole not really playing to win.
