ADVICE NEEDED... PLEASE SHARE..
Brad, you are getting closer and closer. I'm excited for you. Everyone has given the things you need to know, and I think you are on top of all this. The only thing I can say is everyone is different post op. What someone can tolerate, another can't, so not stocking up too much for post op is good advice. I stocked up on broth, but couldn't stand hardly any broth because they tasted greasy to me and made me sick. The hospital did give me a vegetable bullion cube that I liked, and made it fairly weak, so the one cube lasted me almost 2 days. Never did find any vegetable cubes when I got home. Good luck, bud. You are doing awesome. Michael
I bought the samples from the different WLS sites like Bariatric Advantage. They put together a set of ones to try and I used these post surgery to get an idea of what i liked. I went with the 'little of everything' approach. I ended up liking the cheaper stuff in the end after surgery.
Make sure you have both sweet and salty options. I went nuts when I did not have anything salty for days. It is odd when you have to force yourself to eat. Very strange indeed.
If you make your own stocks I would go with the freeze in ice cube tray method as your portions will be very small. I really liked a butternut squash soup that cam in one of those boxed carton type containers. It kept me from going crazy in the beginning.
For me my tastes did not really change. I just did not feel satisfied till I did warm and slightly salty. Then life was good again.
It will be easier to do the liquid diet after surgery. But practicing now with prep and sitting with the food is really good practice.

Did you have to pay out of pocket for the NUT or did insurance cover it? I need to get me an appointment soon.
If you need something coffee-like in the AM, that Click stuff is the bomb! www.drinkclick.com I'm freaking hooked on it. It does have a slight bit of sugar in it though. ISOPure is pretty decent. I've been drinking the chocolate flavor with a banana typically and some light Soy Milk and water and ice blended. The ISOPure has no sugar. I picked up some Vanilla GNC brand the other day I'm going to try with some Strawberries.
