COLD!

You know, it's almost a daily occurence that I discover something new about myself.  Being obese from a very early age, I'm experiencing things that I've never seen/heard/felt before.  One of the most striking is the way  the weather is affecting me.  I had my surgery in March of this year, so by the time I had lost a significant amount of weight, the weather was warm and quickly turned to a very hot summer.  I did notice that I tolerated the heat ALOT better this year than in years past, but I really didn't realize what kind of fall/winter I would have.  Well, let me tell you, it has been a real eye-opener.  I FREEZE all of the time now.  I'm cold at work, which is amazing because I used to be the one who would raise hell if one of my employees touched the termostat because I was always hot!  I'm cold at home, in the truck, and especially in public places.  I was checking out at the grocery store yesterday and my teeth were chattering while I was paying!  It's gonna be a looong cold winter!

I'm now cold all the time.  I sleep with a heater by the bed and a electric blanket.  Think of a skinny bear...you just don't see one.  For Christmas and birthdays I now ask for long sleeve shirts and thermal underwear!!  You'll adjust, but it might take a while.  During the spring I went to AZ just to get some extra heat...Saw a couple of baseball spring training games.  I wasn't there for the games...just the sunshine.  Brian

I know what you mean brother for 30 years I would be naked ans still sweating and the wife would be bundled up with the heat on. Now I go to bed in layers and a electric blanket and she has the covers off. Times have changed!!!

Funny you should mention sleeping "fully clad" like that.  I used to call my wife the "fleece queen" and complain about her not wearing sexy "stuff" to bed.  Now, I think I've joined the ranks!

My kids can't understand why I drive with the heat on high in the fall and winter and no air in the summer.

I'm in the club too.  I get cold often and never go anywhere without a sweatshirt and/or jacket even when it is 75 out.   I prefer to be cold than hot since I can usually FIX cold.

I had to laugh when I saw you lived in North Carolina! But dang do I know what you are talking about. Up here in Massachusetts we have already had snow and sleet. (Today is balmy at 56 which is not usual)

I wear all flannel to bed and socks. That is a tee shirt and long sleeve flannel shirt. And I am still cold.I used to wear just shorts and have the ceiling fan on. All year long! I was the one in the office to turn down the heat and turn up the air. ALWAYS.  I am only down 62 but I am cold anytime. I never wore gloves or a hat. I would have suffocated with those socks at night.

I had not thought of the summer time and not wanting to put on the air conditioning. That idea just blows my mind. I have not yet done summer with weight off. Everyone is already laughing at me.

I am asking for warm clothes for christmas. Turtle necks, flannel shirts, heavy socks, gloves. They are going to love buying them just because it is so funny to them.

What has made it worse for me is having to drink so much water.  Like right now, it is  34 degrees outside.  I have my new warm house shoes on and sweat pants with a blanket as I watch the packers and have some water.  My hands are the worst part of it for me as they get REALLY cold holding water.  I should probably try to drink ho****er or decaf tea instead. But.... boy can I relate to feeling cold, which is something I never used to feel.

You can count me in on the thermal reversal. I've started doing something I've never done before. I now wear a T shirt under my regular shirt. I never did that before because I got too hot, even in winter. I went several years withoutr ever wearing a coat outside since I was only going from the car to wherever. Now I don't leave the house without a jacket or coat and it hasn't been cold yet. Oh well, it seems to be worth the trade.
