Im just over 3 months out from having GBS. I am starting to see that Im getting cravings and getting hungrier quicker but I still cannot eat no where near what I used to before GBS. I can eat anything,Ive had no problems what so ever since surgery. I told my Doc and he said its ok to eat a no-no food every once in awhile because Im gonna lose no matter what right now. He is very pleased with my progress. My doc said I would be at 220pds by Febuary, well its only  November 23rd and Im weighing 226 and like I said eating pretty much whatever but staying healthy first. Im a little worried though, because the head hunger is coming back so soon. Has this happened to anyone else here ? Is this normal this early out ? Also what is the reason why they dont want us drinking with meals including 30 mins before and after ? Is it because your nutrients need to stay longer in the pouch so they can be digested better ? What if you drink during a meal, like taking  a couple of sips during my meal is there a real harm in that or is it told to us to not to drink because youll stay fuller longer ?

Doc,
Before surgery, your stomach released very small amounts of food every so often into your colon by using a valve at the bottom. Your pouch has no valve so you can think of it as a funnel. Whatever you put in it, will go out through the small opening at the bottom. If you dilute the food with liquid, it will go out faster. Think of the funnel and compare thick oatmeal to  tomato soup. The thinner stuff gets out quicker so you don't feel full as long.

We're at about the same point post surgery and I can tell you that I'm having a real battle with head hunger. I really miss the feeling of sitting down to a well prepared meal and eating a plate full until I'm completely satisfied. I get full now but not satisfied. I don't think that it will ever be the same since the plumbing has been altered but that's what got me to the size I was so it seems like a fair trade. I can also eat whatever I want but I'll dump on too much sugar and I can't even overfill my pouch a little without paying a dear price but I'm looking at it as a good thing. People say the head hunger will go away but I have my doubts. It's just something to deal with.
Good luck,
Jim

I've been battling awfull head hunger too, and I find that by upping my protein helps, also I find that having caffene increases the head hunger.
