Why do we have to sip the water?  What will happen if we gulp it? 

Trial and error!!!  Go ahead gulp it and see how much will fit.  Then report back, we are men not wussies.  Since when do we do as we are told?

For me now at three months out I can gulp twice but three times and it feels like I swallowed a brick and it hurts like hell.  It used to be one gulp and a brick. It is all trial and error.

Think of a funnel, pour water in slowly and it runs right through. Pour it in very fast out of a bucket lets say and it will back up before it runs through. Just after surgery you do not want to put undo pressure on your new, still healing stoma. Once your are properly healed then it is a comfort issue more than anything, like the previous post said feels like swallowing a brick.

It hurts like heck... I'm a year out.. and got lax the other day... in a hurry.. and chugged the end of my drink.... ah...crap... bent over double in pain... dumb dumb dumb.

Here's a good one for ya.  In September on a camping trip my best friends sons and their friends talked us into shotgunning a beer.  I was very good at it in the day.  Well I won, my can went empty first.  I guress there isnt enough room in the pouch for a 12 oz beer, foam shot 12 inches out of my head for a good 20 seconds, and we laughed for an hour.  Happy weekend all.
