vitamins
Quick question, Can you swallow chewable vitamins and get the same absorbtion as chewing them? I recently found some vitamins that i purchased before surgery and I hate the taste but I don't want to waste the money as they were expensive.
My guess is it wouldn't matter, but someone out there probably has better info than I.
Thanks Jim D
Also Thanksgiving sucks!
First time in almost two years I gained weight up to 188! Back on the horse and good riddance pumpkin pie and stuffing.
I agree, I hate the taste of the chewables. At my last check up, I was told that I could try taking regular vitamins and see how the settled in my pouch. I have not had a problem tolerating them, I guess I will see how the absorbtion is, when I have my next round of lab work in two months. I have been taking a super b complex since right after surgery, so I must be absorbing that.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I disagree with Bob L's response. I only used chewables in the first month following surgery. Most of the vitamins I take don't even come in chewable form. I have my blood checked regularly and I've not had a problem with malabsorbtion of the vitamins. I have occasionally been low on some vitamins and I now have to take Vitamin D by prescription ( in addition to the calcium + D pills I take). I also take potassium by prescription. On a normal day, I take 26-28 pills including medication, vitamins, supplements, and Tylenol.
