Not on the Trike anymore
You may recall how I enthused about the Rhino Trike this past summer. Well, despite having a machinist customize the seat height ( under $15 ) , I could never get used to it. I could only go back and forth on my front porch a few times before either my legs or my groin was sore. So, I'll be selling it in the Spring or Summer.
I wouldn't be using it now anyway because I just absolutely hate the cold weather. South Jersey isn't as bad as a lot of other states, but I'll stay huddled in my house until it gets warmer outside. By huddled, I mean I'm wearing a hoodie and a jacket even though the thermostat is set at 70.
I'll be getting my exercise during the winter by walking around inside my house. Once it gets warmer, I'll put my efforts into walking with my rollator. I can walk outside with just a cane but I can't go more than about 50-100 yards. I can do that with the rollator and stop and sit on it whenever I get tired or if my knees start to hurt.
I just have to get off my butt.
On a separate note, I was pleased to meet BigDooba273 for lunch yesterday. It's always fun to meet men I've only previously known from this site. Even though he had a Lap band and I had an RNY, we enjoyed a nice lunch together.

Although I wanted to post about the Trike, the subject of Lunch has come up. I've been going out to lunch once a week with my ex boss for about 9 years. I may have to reduce the frequency of my lunches or just get together without going out to eat once my wife loses her job on 12-31-08. I really don't have any idea of how long we can go without it affecting our moderate lifestyle. Our house is paid off and we don't have many outstanding bills so we should be OK.
However, if anyone else in the S Jersey would like to either meet with me or go out to lunch with us ( strictly Men Only) please contact me using the Contact box on the forum. Dan and I both know Jack, but I doubt he'll come down here from Cincinatti. I did meet with Bob L from TN this past summer. I prefer doing lunch since I don't like driving at night. An occasional dinner in the summer is doable due to available light. We can get a reasonable hot lunch for about $10-$15. I might have to scale back on that next year. Plus, there's always the big all-you-can-eat restaurant in Moorestown called Old Town Buffet ( OTB ) which happens to actually have an excellennt salad bar which can be a meal in itself. I generally just have cooked shrimp. The uniform price for lunch there is $7.99 including beverage -- they also have coupons in the local Shoppers Guide. I can easily be persuaded to go to Mastoris in Bordentown since it's the best diner in a state known for its diners and it's more centrally located in the State.

Nothing wrong with walking around the house. I make alittle path for my walks. Put on some rock music and go. I sometimes will use a 2-3 pound weight while I walk. Forget what people think, you're doing it to improve YOUR health. Push yourself when you can. If you need to pull it back a notch...do it. Sorry the trike didn't work, but other thing might pop up that will. Brian
