Week 1
Just felt like blogging on the forum here to give people crap to read....
I did clears most of the week protien powder in water, broth (chik/beef) and Jell-o until last night when I did a coupld ounces of Potato & Leek soup which was like creme just to see how it would react. (yeah i'm crazy like that) It didn't to bad it was kind of nice to feel a little bit filled. I at least confirmed my stomach was in fact smaller (LOL). I wondered what it'd feel like to be full with this new stomach since i havne't felt full in a week or gulped water down like i used to.
Today is my weekaversery. I don't feel like i've lost an ounce, but I think to myself I must have, cause man, I haven't eating but maybe 300 cal a day just from the protien drink to get my protiens in. I've not been tired, or un-energetic either.
It was quite invigerating the past two days though. I went to dinner with some friends last night at my favorite restaraunt and tonight to a fancy italian place with some friends and I noticed quite a difference. I didn't sit there munching on every peice of bread and appitizer waiting for my huge dinner and drinking tons of beer or mixed drinks. I felt great not doing that. No longer being the friend twice the size as everyone else just constantly eating the stuff on the table. Tonight I had the restaurant blend the ministrone veggie soup and got a few ounces down fine so I think I'm definitely on the creme phase a few days early now.
I was then sitting at the bar with them (I make a great designated driver now!) totally feeling fine and thinking. WOW, I can't believe I'm a week out of a surgery and just going about my business feeling like it never occured (pain, energy, etc.) Just really wierd! I get a cramp a few times a day, but no other pain or discomfort at all (cept for the drain scar). I've not had to take my pain or heartburn meds they have given me. Just really nifty feeling. Fun ride so far!

Oh come on now, don't give up drinking. That would make you a quitter, nobody likes a quitter. ;-) but seriously I didn't even know you had your surgery! I'm glad you made it out okay and such. People scare you to death saying well you could die on the table and I'm like well yeah, but I could die right now of a heart attack, what's your point? You know? haha GREAT JOB SO FAR KEEP IT UP! I wouldn't be testing too many things out this early on, they put you in phases of eating after the surgery for very important reasons. One of the reasons is that you can tear the staple line since it's definitely not healed properly yet. Just be careful and you'll do fine!
