Pants and belts

No idea what size I wear now - was wearing a 58 and it was too small but my body contoured itself around the pants (I had a huge indent where my belt line was.  Man that fat was packed and compact and hard...

Anyway since surgery that has all changed.  Haven't weighed in 2 weeks (was down 62 lbs from heaviest wieght and down 39 since surgery) I stopped using that old belt of mine.  Traded up for one that never fit me that my wife purchased 3 years ago.  Now I am on the 5th notch of that belt and probably could go much further but my damn pants are all bunched up around my waist!

My shirts are very loose now and I no longer roll up the sleeves but can button them and not have them be too short.  My neck of my shirt is enormous and I just look sill when I put a tie on and it is inches below.

I am following all the rules I was given except the excercise part.  Tho I am not just sitting around doing nothing all day - I do have 7 kids to keep me busy after all.  I plan to incorporate excercise into my routine as soon as I can figure out what my routine is...

Sounds like you are doing great.  Keep up the program and you will need another new belt before too long.

I still am using the belt I would wear at my heaviest.  It is a woven one, so I just wrap it around me.  It serves as a reminder every day when I get dressed as to how far I have come.  That belt wraps around to my back now and it barely fit me last March.

It does feel good to see your waist getting smaller.  Keep up the good work and enjoy the ride.

I just got back into my woven belt that I wore several years ago and it feels good to be able to use it again and the Idea to keep it is a good one.

Whatever you do resist the urge to shop for new stuff! I didn't, and after only 9 months have bought a new wardrobe twice! I have jeans and pants in about every size from 48 to 36 and dress shirts in every size from 18 1/2 down to 16.

I just recently went out and bought a new wardrobe in size 36 pants and size L (16 neck) shirts but only because I made it goal and my last set of clothes were looking silly.

The only good thing is that my brother is about 25 pounds heavier than me and my dad is about what I weighed pre-op so they are getting all my clothes that don't fit me anymore.

Buy only what you need to get by and if you can squeeze, get a size or two too small.

I hear you on the clothes. Congrats.

I literally have one pair of pants that fit. I bought them tight and now they fit and soon they wil be too baggy. I just wash them a lot. I also have one belt which is on its last hole. YEA! Saving my money for when I stop changing. Who knows when that will be. My shorts are all the same as when I was 73 pounds heavier. They will have to stay baggy. Need to save money for everythign else!

Atta boy Dan!  You're doing great.  And it will just keep getting better and better.
I started out a size 56 pants.  One week before my surgery I went out and bought a pair of size 42 safari style break-a-way pants.  What was I thinking.........  Now. they are colletcting dust because they are way to big.
Size 36 in Levis.  Size 38 in Levi 501, but I can now wear my "Under Armor" with them and be comfortable.  (For you southern boys, they are to keep our skinny butts warm when it gets cold.)
I just bought clothing in minimal quantities until I reached goal, then I went nuts.  Couldn't help but buy things off of the shelve from the normal people's side of the store.
I have done "Santa" for many years and had a blast doing it.  Last night my wife, dog (dressed as Santa Paws) and I went out delivering goodies to the neighbors.  Many of them said that I was in desperate need of padding in my suit now.  Not going there again.  Didn't like it.  And I did buy a smaller size suit from my original and it is still to big.
Hang on and enjoy the ride!
Merry Christmas,
Paul

Having gone from a 56 to 33 in a very short period of time I can give you some money saving advice....there are pants that have the ability to stretch a good 6" in the waist...buy some of those in a size thats about 2-3 sizes small for you, that way you can stretch them at first and then shrink into them....i got mine from BJ's...they dont have that ugly elastic on the sides, its all INSIDE the pants, very inconspicuous....for example when I was a 42 waist I bought a size 36 pants...and they are still wearable today at my current size 33....i just looked at them to find the brand but it doesn't say....I'm going to BJ's today so I'll find out...

Also...get yourself one of these kinds of belts....it will last ALOT longer:
