...'lest we forget
...excuse me while I go "get rid" of the cubic inch of fudge and two chocolate cookies with milk I just ate...

Why is it we do this to ourselves? I don't eat this **** I haven't eaten this crap for two years! Why is it that I can go the whole pre-christmas season without eating all that sweet crap, then after a quiet dinner with friends I eat like a crack addict after being locked in a closet for a week?
I'm just feeling sick. I'm also feeling pissed that I ate that crap. I'm a little glad I feel sick, though. Just in case I forget sooner than later.

All the protein supplements are killin' me at this point. I can't stand the taste of any of them anymore. Have to force-feed myself one of those vials of liquid protein that tastes like cough syrup.
Luckily I'm not hugely into desert items. (except pumpkin pie). I cooked 4 pizza's last night for a family gathering. That hurt!
Holiday's are holiday's. Everyone fattens up around them cause of all the snacks. Guess we just have to get back on track as soon as possible after the eff ups.
After being "off the run" for a few months now (largely in part to "Annie") I'm up on the fat, low on the muscle. But I started back to running two days after Annie closed. Man, it's a hard horse to get back on. It feels good though.
I can only hope I'm not harming myself in the long run by splurging too much.
Exercise does feel good. I find to keep going I have to vary the activity as well as the purpose. So far, these purposes have served me well at "self-talking" myself into continued exercise:
1. Learning a skill or developing new nerve paths, or "untouched" areas of the body (yoga or karate)
2. Helping others - leading less fit people to the gym.
3. Comradery - The yoga girls are particularly good at this.
4. Adrenaline or Growth Hormone: Sprinting at the upper end of your heart rate spectrum or lifting heavy weights.
5. Balance, Posture and Core: Yoga, Indo Balance Board, ergonomic running and even some gymnastics. Plus the P90X DVD set is very Core-Centric.
I think a lot of guys get board with cardio work so you have to switch it around.
Best Wishes,
Dave
