1) STAY OUT OF DEBT (to the best of your ability). There is a proverb that says the debtor is the slave of the person who loans him the money.

2) Save at least 10 percent of every pay check, keeping at least 1000 dollars as "emergency" money on hand.

3) live below your means

4) work at relationships, keep friendships strong, and dont' be in a rush to get married

5) If you are going to have sex before you're married, have safe sex. Wear a condom, having children or getting a STD is the worst possible thing for your future right now.

Happy Birthday,  If I were able to be 22 again I guess I would have put alot more thought into my future as far as long term. For me at 22 next friday night was a long term goal. Now at 38 I feel I have to really play catch up as far as retirment plans and such. Also I thinking I may have stated to try and make a family alittle to late. I was thinking about the other night. When we finally do have a baby (hopefully this year or next) when the baby turns 20 I'll be almost 60.
Well there are just a couple of things I've been kicking myself for. I could go on all day but I wont bore you....
Happy Birthday again and Hope your had great holidays.....

PS. Thankfully your really only as old as you feel, cuase with the weight coming off I'm certainly feeling younger.
