I did it, I finally hit goal.  I stepped on the scale at the Y this morning and 188 was the weight.  That scale always indicates a couple pounds heavier than the one at home, so I'm stoked.

My goal was to be in a normal BMI by my 1 year anniversary, and I did it with 14 days to spare.

Woo hoo.

Surgery   331
Today      188

This is awesome, and to have it done within the year.  WOW, FART, IDMMG (I did meet my goal),, and any exclamatory expletives you can think of....!!!!!!  That has to feel great.  I can't wait to join you.

Keep on Keeping on!!!

Holy **** Scott!!  Had to pull up my calculator to crunch the numbers.  Bro, that is 253 pounds from your heaviest!  Way to rock!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Way to go Scott what an awesome feeling it is to hit that magic number of goal weight. How many times did you get on and off the scale? I know I must have done it about 5 times until I finally believed what I was seeing. Congratulations on your awesome accomplishment.

Well about 2 days ago i hit the weight (188) at home, called my wife to come in and look.  When I stepped back on the scale it said 189, damn scale.

Today at the Gym I used one of the larger Dr. Office type scales and it said 188, so I'm going with that.

Thanks!

Scott

Truly Amazing loss! Congrats!

Just curious - Was exercise involved? Did you stick totally to the program or go lower or higher in calories. Nutrient balance the recommended one?

This is great,

Dave

I have been exercising ever since I decided to have this surgery.
I have been going to the gym for 2 years as of December.

My Dr. never gave me a caloric value for the program, instead they gave a volume suggestion, and that was sketchy.  But based on the volume and the examples they gave it was about 600 calories a day.  They don't like using protein drinks they consider those soft calories because they go right through the pouch and don't sustain a full feeling.  I agree with the full feeling part, but I still use them.

I was initially very dilligent on their program.  I have since deviated a bit because of the exercise and my desire to be able to run, bike, etc.  I was just tired all the time.  The dietician I am seeing now has me on about 1000 calories a day.  I have been under that for the last week trying to break a stall and hit my goal weight, which has happened.  Once I feel confident that this is not just a one day or one week success, I will be adjusting my calories to a maintenance value.

No idea what that is yet, but I will gradually increase until I can balance things out.

Awesome. All that in one year is amazing.

I am thrilled for you and the potential for all of us.  I am glad you can enjoy it so much with all that you have been through to get there.

***Marc who waits to be cleared to get back to the gym. Oh the pain of trying to establish that routine again! My Achilles tendon better be as good as new or I will have to hammer someone.***

Hey congrats on your success! I have about two months till my 1 year and I am scared I might not make it under 200 (195 would be a nice place for me to be).

Your total weight loss is amazing! Your avatar pic looks great, doesn't even look like the same guy!

Anyway, congrats again and I look forward to getting to where you're at.
