BRR!!! It's mighty cold out there!

I've been retired for over 16 years and I simply don't have to go out when it's bitter cold.  So, I've been calling my docs and rescheduling appts for when the current cold snap will be over.  I know I'm a wimp when it comes to the cold--hey, I wear a coat in my house all winter.  And, it may be selfish on my part.  But, I ain't leaving my house until it gets warmer.  Afternoon temps in the low 30s would suit me fine for now.

I know that, when I was a kid through my teenage years, Jan was always the cold month and Feb was usually the snowy month.  I was living in Central NJ then.  South NJ is usually milder.  We often get rain when Central NJ gets snow.  But, everyone's getting blasted by this frigid air.

all the better to freeze our asses off.  That's what we want anyway right?

It's so cold here it really is hard to get out and do much of anything with eyelids freezing and your face burning off from the wind,  ouch.....

I'm already looking forward to spring.

It should hit 3 degrees or more below zero tonight at the northern part of the state.   (I can see highpoint monument from my house)   I am so far north, I pickup radio stations that give Upper Hudson Valley, Adirondak, Albany and Southern VT weather.  I like this cold if I don't have to be out a lot in it.   It means a real hard freeze that will kill off some of the bugs for next season.   Hopefully fewer tent caterpillars, Japanese Beatles, etc.

It is about -18 right now here. The wind chill was down around -36.

We have about a foot of snow on the ground.

And I went out and played in it all day.

My beard got so cold I thought the hair was going to snap off.

I wanna move to Arizona.

I was off by about 10 degrees.   It is freakin -13 out there!!! Holy ****   In NJ no less.   I don't want to see my fuel consumption.

Try not having a coat that fits well and be out in it. I like to froze my nucking futzs off. The only thing that fits is a sweatshirt hoodie so I am wearing that plus a sweater plus a shirt plus a T-shirt.
