OK, so an average of 72 pounds in the first 3 months.

I'll hit my 3 month date in 2 days...  i was down 100 lbs as of last week, I haven't weighed myself in 4 days as i've been on the road...
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

Maybe we should enter it in terms of percentages.

I would be at 14% loss on day 90.

I am not really going anywhere with this, but it would be cool to see what the averages are for men over say a one year period and track what was done to be at that level.

Example: John Doe starts out at 400 and loses 75 pounds in 90 days, then 150 by day 365. John swam laps 3 days a week and did moderate walking
we can compare as a percentage of excess weight what John did versus someone else who exercises little, or maybe more

I don't know, just thought it would be cool to chart this stuff from the participants of this forum. maybe we can determine those that did more cardio lost more than the gym rats or vise/versa. Most of the data we see is polluted with estrogen and we need to clear the air.

Personally, I lost 122 lbs in the first 3 months and 234 lbs in just under 10 mos...have been holding steady at goal for the past few months.

If you're just asking this for curiosity sake then cool, just dont think that what worked for someone else will absolutely work the same for you because everyone is different.  Some have gone through things others havent, for instance I had terrible complications and was in the hospital on a feeding tube for almost a month, half of that time spent in a coma.

That's not to say I havent noticed trends....I can assure you that your best chance to be a quick loser is to eat 3 meals and 2-3 snacks per day with about 2-3 hrs in between....that'll keep you satisfied and cravings to a minimum....You should eat very high protein (at least 60 grams, preferably 100+ grams) and very low carb...

I'd say as a guideline for an average sized guy, for the first 3-6 mos keep it around 600-800 calories, then about 800-1200 around 6 months and once you reach goal 1000-2000+ for maintenance, depending on where you're at.  Obviously exercise will help even further, though I am far from a gym rat.

Guess I'am the slow loser.  Pre surg was 280lbs 3 mos out down to 240 goal is 170 doing gym, 1100 cals per day etc.  Will meet surgen Monday He said I would gain 10lbs 2mos out and then  start losing big time.  I quess the more weight the quicker the loss.  New at this.  Still shooting for under 200lbs in 6 mos

I think I was pretty close to a lb. a day average during that time. I was pretty close to goal and remember having the opportunity to get laid because of it.
