Feeling Mopey

Sorry to hear about that Lance.  Even if you're sure you're both better off, I'm sure you will feel like crap right now.  I know how you feel about life stopping for 5 minutes.  I'm going through my own trying times right now and feel like if I could just stop for a day or two and get my head straight I'd be alot better off.

You're story kind of worries me.  You hear so much about WLS'ers breaking up/divorcing/etc, I guess it's just sad to see another one actually happen.

Best of luck to you

Jason

Yeah, I thought of that too. But this break up has been in the works for months if not years. We were together for 3 years and while we loved each other, we both wanted the other person to be something that we couldn't. So it was meant to end, just hopefully we will be able to move on and become friends like we started out being. It'll be tough but I already feel a smidgeon better and it's only day 1 after the break up. Life must commence, though. Thanks for all the support!

Well from someone who is married, I can honestly say this is a good thing. While it doesn't feel like it now, if you dont' love eachother the way you are now, you'll never love eachother.

You have to go into a relationship realizing that a person may never, ever change, even if you really want them too. If you can't love them, expecting them to change, it just doesn't work.

As for the pain of the break up, it does get easier. It just takes time.

Hope you feel better.

Lance,

I'm so very sorry to hear about your recent breakup.  You will make it through this.  It hurts now but everyday will get easier.  Even though it didnt work out, at least you both had smart heads on your shoulders and decided to end it amicably before it became bitter.  Now you at least have a chance to be friends down the road.

Take some time for yourself and dont sweat the puffy eyes.  Thats what they make visine for.  Keep yourself focused on your WL journey and your schoolwork.  Focus on maintaining and possibly even losing those last 30 or so pounds you want to lose.  Give yourself a few goals to strive for to help in keeping your mind distracted from the breakup.  Before you know it, you'll be through this, and life will be good again.

You know we're all here to help support you and if there's anything we can do, all you need to do is ask.

SOrry to hear that Lance. It is never as amicable and maybe this time apart will end up being good for both of you. You have a great new body and a good attitude. Test the waters. It is too early to settle down anyway.

Get out and play the field my friend.
