nervous
Hell Fritz, I had to be catheterized with an "in and out" just to pee before I could go home. Filled up a 1000cc bag 1.3 times before I left. The relief from draining the bladder out was well worth the discomfort!
Would not make it a regular leisure activity that's for damn sure!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
Yes, it is normal to be nervous. You know how much you are ready for surgery. When I had my WLS, I was considered to be high risk and had to convince the docs that I was better off having it. As far as danger goes, they said I was in the 94th percentile. They were concerned that I was going to throw a blod clot because of swelling due to lymphedema in my legs. I pointed out that tha is a lymph problem and not a vascular one. I asserted that I was much more likely to throw a clot just walking down the street if I didn't have the surgery.
If you are nervous, discuss this with your family. You probably have a good idea of what shape you are in. When you go to the hospital, they are going to have you fill out a medical form asking what to do in various situations. It's helpful to know that's just part of the admissions. If you are a high risk patient, then I'd suggest that you get your affairs in order. I especially mean finances and how they affect your family. I also got my spiritual relationship in order.
However, if you are like most of the men here, you should have smooth sailing.
