Update:

Had my RNY yesterday at Fresno Heart Hospital. I am home and feeling sore and still trying to get rid of da gas! LOL. So far I have been able to tolerate the liquids. I hope this is a positive sign of things to come.

I'm glad that you are home and you seem to be doing well.  Just follow your doctors' and the other pros advice and you should do well.  It may seem like a long time, but soon you'll be on solids again.  But, in the meantime, you'll lose a lot of weight.

Welcome to the loser's bench.  Plenty of room here with more room to come as you become the incredible shrinking man.

Jay,

Follow the Four Mantras of Life Post WLS and everything will be fine.

1.  Sip, sip, sip.  Need to get you fluids in.
2.  Walk, walk, walk.  Exercise and prevent blood clots.
3.  Any problems - CALL YOUR DOCTOR!!  'nuff said.
4.  Except in the Locker Room never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!  You may find yourself experiencing a "laundry emergency"!

Strap in and hang on for the ride!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

"Never trust a fart" isn't in the pamphlet anywhere....LOL, but it's great advise.

Congrats on the surgery, I came home from my surgery yesterday and I'm dealing with the gas issues, but aside from that,  not feeling bad at all. Just following the advise sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk.

Not in the pamphlet but one that a lot of folks learn the hard way - myself included! Fortunately I was home when it happened!  even at ten months out if I have any doubt about what is fixing to happen I try to get some porcelain under me before I learn the hard way again!  Better safe than sorry!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

Walking 30 minutes a day really helped me with the gas issue starting my first day home.  I remember the 30 minutes being extremely slow, and lethargic, but I was up and moving.  Congrats and keep your head in the game, the first 3 weeks were the toughest from a mental perspective (for me at least).
Where are we going??  And why am I in this handbasket??

right now.  somewhere.  somebody is working harder than you.

Congratulations!!  Walk, sip, walk, sip, walk.  Do not forget to rest I went too fast and got myself in trouble.  Take your time and be patient.

Welcome to loser's bench!

Thanks for all the encouragement. I am doing about 15 minutes of walking every hour to 90 minutes. Then rest and sip, sip.... :)
