I would go to the health food store and get some extra vitamin D (couldn't hurt). The latest from the weightloss surgeons regional meetings state that many WLS patients are now coming up short on their vitamin D. The PA who works with my surgeon now recommends 2000 international units per day (sounds high, but I do get some extra vitamin D in daily). I have asked my dentist (and other dentist) many times if my tooth loss could be from WLS. They all felt no. They have talked about it at their continuting ed classes and no info has been presented to state otherwise. My dentist thought it was part of growing older. I am wondering if using sugar might harm our immune system toward tooth loss (esp. post WLS)? You might want to get a bone scan (as a baseline) to see how you do over the years. Also my dentist said that teeth are set by the end of your teenage years...it's really downhill from there. Having the same problem...Brian
