How Long ??

I have a desk job so I was out a little over a week, surgery was on a Thursday and I was out the next week returning on the Monday after.  I was fine to return, but was slightly awkward with lunch and protein drinks as you are not on solids at that point.

Because of scar tissue from previous abdominal surgery I had to have an open procedure.  I was off 6 weeks.

I have one of those physical jobs. My surgeon demands that you take off at least two weeks. Then they require you not lift more than 10 pounds for an additional six weeks. So in total I will be off a full eight weeks as my company does not have any light-duty work.

I'm two weeks out tommorrow and I feel good enough to get back to work. I will use this time to build stamina trough walking.

I was out of work about 5 days. I was in pretty rough shape though. I mainly only do deskwork and walking. Fortunately my bosses wife had the surgery so he was very cool and did not push me too hard. I was glad to be at work because being at home watching food commercials was killing me. DAMN THAT BURGER KING!

For my surgery in 2003 I was out 11 days. The only thing that bothered me was the commute. It was open.
